Get ready for some hot iPhone Action-RPG action! - Updated!

While the iPhone/iPod Touch may not have the reputation of the Nintendo DS or the PSP when it comes to portable gaming, it is starting to raise the eyebrows of gamers with some higher profile releases. The same holds true for the RPG genre. Apart from Zenonia, there hasn't been many popular RPGs for the system but the situation could change soon as FDG Entertainment is about to release their action RPG title Across Age.

Across Age is a throwback to classic Action RPGs of the Super Nintendo and Genesis era. Although some would compare it to Zelda, based on some hands-on playtime, I would say that it's more similar to the original Ys, especially the battle system (which requires you to bump into the enemies from the side to inflict damage). Across Age has been submitted to the app store for approval so it should be available pretty soon for the iPhone/iPod Touch for the price of $6.99.
