Dragon Quest IX Roughly Dated, Publishing Details Released

I could editorialize and spin this to my heart's content. But I'm just going to let a statement from yesterday's official press release do the work. Let your imaginations run wild from there.

In a unique partnership with Square-Enix, Nintendo of America will publish Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies in the Americas when the game arrives in summer 2010. Dragon Quest IX has sold more than 4.15 million copies in the Japanese market. Nintendo and Square-Enix will now work together to bring this title to the Nintendo DS consumer base in the Americas.

Okay, I can't help myself, I have to editorialize a wee little bit.

If Nintendo of America is doing this localization, then Square-Enix could focus on Dragon Quest VI's localization, and they could bring the two games to North America within a few months of each other. This could be the ultimate summer of Dragon Quest. Keep your fingers crossed!
