Chrono Trigger Also Headed To Japanese Cell Phones
Sadly, it's the OTHER iKind of cell phone.
12.18.10 - 2:19 AM

Square Enix has ports of games going in all directions these days. We have seen that Final Fantasy IV is now headed to yet another system, the PlayStation Portable, and we talked a bit about the Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions and Secret of Mana iPhone ports. Now yet another 16-bit classic is getting - you guessed it, yet another port. The Jump Festa in Japan has just begun today, and the first surprise Square had up its sleeve was Chrono Trigger, which is headed to cell phones in Japan next year.

While Square Enix has so far opened up a teaser site for the time travel adventure's latest incarnation, they are also showing a trailer at the Jump Festa, which runs today and tomorrow. The site says the mobile version of Chrono Trigger will release next spring in Japan, but not for which cell phone carrier(s) - although Square Enix's titles typically hit iMode mobiles first.
