Tales of the Abyss 3DS: More Of The Same
At least it's in 3D.
02.09.11 - 11:30 PM

Famitsu recently compared the upcoming Tales of the Abyss port for the 3DS to its PlayStation 2 predecessor. The end result? There wasn't that much to separate the game from the PlayStation 2 version. The 3DS title features similar graphics, controls, and all the voice acting from the original is still intact. However, what does promise a different experience is the battles - now in widescreen and 3D. You tap the bottom screen to order your allies around in battle. Also, the 3D battles offer better visibility to judge your enemies' position.

Additionally, it appears that Namco Bandai based the 3DS version of Tales of the Abyss off the North American release. This at least promises new artes for Japanese fans. Also, it has been reported that there will be some new elements, but details are scarce at this time.

Tales of the Abyss for the 3DS is set for a spring release in Japan.
