Final Fantasy XI & XIV Service Resumes Friday
Power is very slowly getting back to normal in Japan.
03.22.11 - 4:13 PM

Following the recent earthquake and resulting tsunamis in Japan, Square Enix shut down its Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV online servers, and suspended all PlayOnline services for at least a week. Some of you have noticed it's been more than a week now, but the power situation hasn't exactly been ideal over there. Today they announced that the games' services, as well as all other PlayOnline services, will resume this Friday at 4 PM Pacific time (7 PM Eastern if the math is tough). The company is taking measures to cut down energy in other areas, as the situation still isn't 100% stable quite yet.

Square Enix also apologized for the inconvenience caused by the shutdown, though players are probably going to be understanding in this case anyway. In addition, Final Fantasy XI players won't be billed for the April cycle.
