But you can't see it until next year.
04.07.11 - 7:10 PM

Today, Electronic Arts and FUNimation announced a deal to add a Mass Effect anime movie to the BioWare series' already many forms of media, which includes an ongoing comic series. The film, not due until next year, will also be co-produced by Tokyo studio T.O Entertainment. So far there are no details other than that production is already underway.

BioWare's Casey Hudson, who will serve as executive producer, says: "Over the last few years, we have revealed different pieces of the Mass Effect world through different media. Extending the story through an anime medium is another amazing opportunity for us." Other producers include FUNimation's Gen Fukunaga, and Chris Moujaes; as well as T.O Entertainment’s Takeichi Honda and Yui Shibata.

The Mass Effect anime will be available in the summer of 2012 both on DVD (no word on blu-ray yet) and as a digital download.
