iOS Releases Today: Zenonia 3, Order & Chaos Online and... Dark Horse?
A new 2D RPG, 3D MMORPG and yes, comics.
04.27.11 - 8:58 PM

As we recently reported, GAMEVIL's successful Zenonia series continues on in Zenonia 3: The Midgard Story, which is out now in some parts of the world, and should be available around 8pm PST/11pm EST in the U.S. App Store, with an expected price of $4.99.

Keep in mind prices are estimated based on the New Zealand App Store price (with games releasing there first), and may change. Final Fantasy III for iPad came in slightly cheaper than expectations, for example.

GAMEVIL has released the trailer you see below, and if you want a little more, a helpful Touch Arcade forum-goer has a couple of early-game gameplay videos as well.

Gameloft seems to get mixed reactions from gamers: While they sometimes release games that are more than a little similar to other established franchises, the results are often a well-crafted game, suited to mobile devices. The company's latest inspiration is World of Warcraft, as seen in the release of Order & Chaos Online - a fully 3D MMORPG for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It's what you'd expect in a World of Warcraft-type MMO on a portable device, and it'll be interesting to see if the game catches on, because what's an MMO without a large player base? The same aforementioned forum user who uploaded that Zenonia 3 gameplay footage has a lengthy gameplay video for Order & Chaos Online as well. The game is available now for $6.99 USD (iTunes link).

Finally, some of you may be interested to know that Dark Horse Comics finally enters the digital age today, with the launch of their online store and universal iOS app (an Android app is coming soon). This means that you can now easily get your RPG-related comic fix with Mass Effect, Fallout: New Vegas, Dungeon Siege III, and yes, The Guild comics. Also, just putting it out there, but there's plenty of Joss Whedon to be had with Fray, Dr. Horrible and Serenity comics. Check out the Dark Horse Digital Store right here and get reading!
