Don't Expect Persona 5 Anytime Soon
Plus some other little tidbits of information.
08.31.11 - 11:55 PM

Famitsu have reported that Persona 5, or "the next numbered title," is already in development and familiar staff from previous titles are working on it. They've expressed interest in slightly modifying the gameplay to include new ideas, similar to their approach for Persona 3. In that first PlayStation 2 instalment, the team moved away somewhat from the traditional dungeon-crawling elements to include social links and other new concepts. Perhaps they are looking to try and implement new mechanics in a similar fashion.

Catherine, which was the first HD game from the Persona team, was built with the Gamebyro engine. Persona 5 will use an internal engine. Director Katsura Hashino has commented that this will make development smoother, but went on to announce that it would be quite some time until the game is released.
