Rift Gets An Update Next Week
Introducing the Ashes of History.
09.21.11 - 10:09 PM

Trion Worlds' MMORPG Rift is set to get a big content update (1.5) next week. This fifth update, titled Ashes of History, raises the level cap, currently set at level 50, and introduces a number of new features and content. The new Chronicles, whose dungeons include Greenscale’s Blight, Hammerknell, and the Chronicles of Attunement, is a story mode which lets players explore alone or with one other player. The player vs. player Warfront takes place in the Library of the Runemasters where you'll fight over Dwarven secrets. If you're really up for a challenge, you can check out the Darkening Deeps for a new Master Dungeon mode, but the loot should be (hopefully) better in this mode, too.

Along with the new content, Trion also promises a new World Event. There will also be veteran rewards - incentives for those who play Rift for a long time - such as gear, a portable mailbox, and more. Finally, if you're not a big fan of the UI, the AddOns Beta feature allows you to try out user-created mods instead.
