Square Enix To Start Charging For Final Fantasy XIV
The longest free trial period ever is over.
12.07.11 - 1:57 AM

With rather significant changes coming soon to Final Fantasy XIV as promised Square Enix will also be ending the free trial period - one that's been going on ever since the MMORPG's troubled launch back in September of 2010. In anticipation of the planned Version 2.0 update, the subscription service will start up on January 6th of next year.

Until Version 2.0 is released however, these prices will be discounted - that is, $9.99 per month will cover both the monthly subscription and a character, instead of the regular cost of $12.99 per month. Signing up for longer term subscriptions saves you more money however, so check out this chart for more complete breakdowns.

We will provide more details on Version 2.0 as they're available.
