RPGFan Soundtracks: Final Fantasy XIII-2 and More'Twas the week before Christmas, and soundtracks were in the house.12.18.11 - 11:25 PM
Today's reviews are packin' some heat, and the hottest of the bunch is most certainly resident Jedi Master Patrick Gann's review of the massive Final Fantasy XIII-2
soundtrack. This four-disc wonder is chock-full of music from some of my favorite composers (including Naoshi Mizuta and Masashi Hamauzu), and Pat has given us a comprehensive write-up, so be sure to check it out!
Along with that, we've got some more Final Fantasy coverage in the form of our Dissidia 012 soundtrack, courtesy of reader Bradley Hayes-Raugh. Be sure to check out Brad's thoughts on this remix-filled album. If that's not enough of Square Enix's flagship series for you, then perhaps Kyle E. Miller's review of Final Fantasy IV & The After Years Sounds Plus will satisfy you.
My fine associate Neal Chandran also brings us his thoughts on the soundtrack to UnchainBlades ReXX, a game I personally hope sees a stateside release. If that's not your thing, perhaps Neal's work-up of the excellent Persona 3 Portable Voice Mix Arrange album might be. Neal and I both enjoyed this music, so be sure to check out his thoughts and sample a few of the tracks!
Speaking of fine associates, Kyle E. Miller was also gracious enough to make his way through Motoi Sakuraba's Dark Souls soundtrack. The game was already quite intense, so be sure to check out Kyle's review and see if the music followed suit.
That's all for today, but I can assure you, we've got plenty more cooking, including a new feature that we're hard at work on-- so check back soon, and have a wonderful holiday!
