Turbine yesterday announced a new expansion for their free-to-play MMO,
The Lord of the Rings Online. Titled
Riders of Rohan, the expansion will not be made available until this fall, but has quite a few additions. Not only will the level cap be increased to level 85, but players will also get the chance to ally themselves with the Rohirrim and ride through the
Plains of Rohan. The new content allows you to witness the breaking of the Fellowship and join up with the Ents and eventually Eomer, too. This expansion will also introduce mounted combat, allowing you to equip your mount with armour and level level up its skills.
Riders of Rohan will be a much larger expansion than the last, Rise of Isengard. Last year, Turbine managed to successfully merge their North American and European for LOTRO, and this year will be celebrating the MMORPG's fifth anniversary.
