RPGFan Soundtracks Update
Featuring both flexibility and reach!

The coming of another week brings with it another batch of soundtrack reviews! We've got a little something from everyone today, so be sure to check everything out-- and definitely give the music a listen!

For starters, Patrick Gann brings us his thoughts of the currently Japan-only 7th Dragon 2020 soundtrack. This is some quality Yuzo Koshiro work, so if you have any interest at all in things that are awesome, be sure to take a look at Pat's write-up!

Derek Heemsbergen (who you'll be hearing from again in next week's Soundtracks Spotlight) stops by as well, with a review of the soundtrack to the Japan-only, mobile-only Final Fantasy Legends: Hikari to Yami no Senshi (which translates to something like "Warriors of Light and Dark"). This album comes to us courtesy of Naoshi Mizuta, a personal favorite of mine, but to see whether or not it measures up, check out Derek's review!

Kyle E. Miller also steps up today, with his review of the original Mass Effect's soundtrack! I was an especially big fan of this music, and it looks like Kyle had a good experience with it as well, so definitely check out his thoughts. Also, if you're interested in Mass Effect music, be sure to keep an eye out in the coming weeks for our review of the sequel and threequel's soundtracks as well!

Finally, though the review won't be live until tomorrow, be sure to check back for my own thoughts on the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning soundtrack by Grant Kirkhope, a name familiar to VGM fans (and it isn't, it should be-- go check out the soundtrack to Perfect Dark, for starters). While I wasn't in love with this particular soundtrack, it was by no means bad, and certainly worthy of appearing in the game (which we will have a review for tomorrow, as well).

And, as always, be sure to check back next week for our next Soundtrack Spotlight, as it will feature a game and soundtrack that are very near and dear to my heart!

(Oh, and if you haven't taken a look yet, be sure to check out my review of the To the Moon soundtrack!)

EDIT 2/7/2012: The Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning soundtrack review is now live! Be sure to check it out!
