First Etrian Odyssey IV Trailer
What's a FOE? Hint: Not just a foe.

The recently-announced Etrian Odyssey IV will be the series' first foray onto the Nintendo 3DS platform, and so monsters have appropriately graduated from sprites to 3D models. A special type of enemy is a FOE, short for 'Field On Enemy' - these are the ones that you can see in advance, and they're especially strong; this way you can avoid them if you'd prefer.

Below is the game's first PV, at two minutes long.

(Interesting that there actually had to be a warning at the end of that trailer that the game won't play on DS systems other than a 3DS.)

Etrian Odyssey IV is set for a July 5th release in Japan. Atlus USA has not yet announced this one for localization.
