Fire Emblem: Awakening Intro Trailer
And some random tidbits on pitched game ideas.
03.21.12 - 4:50 PM

The newest trailer for Fire Emblem: Awakening is an animated clip that gives us some idea of the story - here we find Marth, or who appears to be Marth, challenging the main character Strom as an enemy. Later on Marth is seen rescuing Strom's sister, Liz from being attacked. Surprised to see familiar faces? Awakening actually takes place many years after Shadow Dragon, and in a time where Marth is considered some sort of 'hero king.' Watch the clip below.

In a recent Iwata Asks column, it was also revealed that before Awakening's development had been put into motion, two ideas were pitched for the next Fire Emblem game in order to expand the audience: A modern setting, and a whole other planet altogether - Mars. Medieval is what Fire Emblem seems to do best though, so they fell back into that familiar territory.

Fire Emblem: Awakening for Nintendo 3DS releases in Japan on April 19th.
