Mistborn RPG Announced
Little Orbit brings Brandon Sanderson's series to life.
03.26.12 - 3:43 PM

Fantasy author Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series will soon come to life in another medium. Developer Little Orbit announced today that a Mistborn RPG is in the works for PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac. The game is set in a dark fantasy world overseen by the Lord Ruler, a world which allows inhabitants to control and use (rule-based) magic by way of ingesting and burning metallic 'flakes' which can temporarily alter them physically or mentally. Mistings can burn just one type of metal, however, a mistborn can burn all types.

Mistborn will take place several hundred years before the first novel, and star Fendin "Fiddle" Fathvell as the protagonist. Fiddle must fight to protect his family by learning quickly how to use his sudden Allomatic abilities - abilities which will make for one unique combat system.

Not only is Sanderson writing an original storyline for the action-oriented RPG, but he is also working on the final book in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series and wrote a novella closely tied to the iOS title Infinity Blade II.

Mistborn will release sometime in 2013.
