Details for Pokémon Black & White 2New locations, new characters, and some interesting plot points... come see!04.12.12 - 2:42 PM
Due to a leak in next month's CoroCoro magazine, we now have some new details on upcoming DS games Pokémon Black & White 2
Firstly, it's been confirmed that this new installment takes place 2 years after the original Black & White games. Half of Unova has been covered in ice (the reason is unconfirmed, but the new legendaries are likely involved), and there is a new protagonist (male or female) and a new rival. There will be some new towns, but old ones will be revisited too. As two years have gone by, however, there will be plenty of new things to see including buildings, sports, and gym leaders. Desert Resort will see one of the biggest overhauls and has some new, unconfirmed, construction work.
Homika (the short girl with the white hair) is a new poison-type Gym Leader of an unconfirmed town. Shizui (the guy in the swimwear with the goggles) is another new gym leader who, you guessed it, specialises in water Pokémon. The shady looking guy with the crazy hair is your new rival (also your childhood friend), and the scientist is a mysterious character who will show up and help you out from time to time.
This time around, the game begins in a new location called Hiougi City. Geographically it sits in the south-west part of Unova which was not available in the previous games. The city features all the usual facilities such as a Pokémon Center, a Trainer School, and shops. It also has an underwater tunnel made of glass, but the purpose of it is not yet confirmed. It may lead to elsewhere in the region.
Lastly, there are 300 Pokemon confirmed to be in the game and all have new regional Pokédex numbers just for the Unova. So far we only know of a few: Psyduck (#026), Riolu (#033), Metagross (#254), and Eevee (#Unknown). In case you were not already aware, there are no brand new Pokémon in these games.
Pokémon Black and White 2 will be arriving in North America this fall. Other countries will likely see it around the same time.
