Demon's Souls Servers To Stay Online
At least, for the 'forseeable future.'
05.29.12 - 11:30 PM

Less than a couple of months after Atlus USA had announced that they would shut down Demon's Souls servers, they once again decided against it. Days before the scheduled May 31st shutdown, Atlus now says they will keep these servers, and thus the game's online component running for the forseeable future, thanks to developments that now make it possible.

Atlus has not provided a new shutdown date for the PS3 action RPG's servers, only saying that it would depend on continued activity and player interest. Demon's Souls, released in 2009, is available for $19.99 US. Its unexpected popularity at the time spawned a sequel from developer From Software, Dark Souls, a PS3 and Xbox 360 title also destined for PC this summer.
