Nintendo Direct Summary
All the important details for RPG fans, that is.
06.22.12 - 12:52 AM

Tonight Nintendo held a few Nintendo Direct conferences. The first one aired out of Japan and was hosted by CEO Satoru Iwata, and consisted of lots of gameplay footage and trailers of previously announced titles, including Project X Zone, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy and a hefty amount of Dragon Quest X Online footage at the end. While I can tell you the game animates quite nicely, there are no videos online yet from the conference to back up my claims, but we'll share them and any other trailers as soon as we find them.

A second, but shorter, such event aired right afterwards and was hosted by Nintendo America's Reggie Fils-Aime. This one had a couple more slight surprises. Level-5's Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, a 3DS title that we haven't heard a word about in quite a long time, is apparently destined for North America sometime this November. Furthermore - in typical Level-5 fashion - there will be one free downloadable puzzle a day for a year following the game's release.

Another 3DS title, Fire Emblem: Awakening, which got a kind-of accidental announcement right in the middle of E3 two weeks ago, is now slated for North America sometime next year. This version does not yet have a subtitle, but the game's DLC (which so far consists of previous Fire Emblem characters such as Roy, Marth, Leaf, Eirika, Ephraim, etc.) will also be made available for English fans.

There was much talk about Pokémon Black & White 2, but if you've been reading RPGFan lately you likely know all the details already. The game did, however, get the first English trailer out of the event:

Finally, Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] as we know will go on sale on July 31st. However, a demo is available now on the 3DS eShop.
