Yes, Final Fantasy Versus XIII Is Still Alive
The cancellation rumours are false, says Square's CEO.

Contrary to last week's rumours that Final Fantasy Versus XIII was cancelled (or at least, that the company would simply let the PlayStation 3 title fade away), Square Enix says the project is still on. In response to the recent news, CEO Yoichi Wada tweeted last night that the rumours are false, and in fact he'd just been in a regular meeting regarding the game. Wada also made mention of the game's cityscape shown in the presentation, saying its quality would sweep you off your feet.

Will we see this footage anytime soon? Let's hope so. Just months ago Tetsuya Nomura had promised that news regarding Versus XIII was still on the way. As well, a Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary event is to take place in Japan from August 31st to September 2nd. On September 1st a presentation regarding the future of the Final Fantasy XIII Lightning saga is supposed to take place (...can we expect Final Fantasy XIII-3?!), and new info on Final Fantasy XIV version 2.0 will also be presented. Final Fantasy VII, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, will also get a stage on September 2nd.

Can they squeeze some Versus XIII footage or info into the event? After all, it would be a perfect opportunity...
