Dead Island: Riptide Revealed
Announced back at E3, but we finally have details.. and screens.
08.31.12 - 1:12 PM

Back in June, Deep Silver Entertainment announced a successor to last year's action RPG, Dead Island. In Dead Island: Riptide, after escaping the island of Banoi, a group of survivors find refuge on a military vessel. Or so they thought, until a storm hits. Weather will play more of a factor to which the protagonists will have to adapt. They will also be joined by a fifth member who comes with their own different skillset, and it's been said that melee combat will play a more prominent role in Riptide than in the original game.

Co-op mode will get new missions such as hub defense where you'll need to set up traps, turrets and fences to defend the area from - what else? - zombies. Deep Silver promises more communication features in this mode as well.

Dead Island: Riptide is aiming for a 2013 release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Be sure to check out the gallery below for first screens and artwork.
