999 Gets New Box Art
In honour, of course, of Virtue's Last Reward.
09.21.12 - 12:38 AM

To celebrate the impending Western release of Extreme Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, publisher Aksys Games has redesigned the cover art for its DS prequel, 999 (Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors). The visual novel released here two years ago to much critical acclaim, prompting Spike Chunsoft to develop Virtue's Last Reward. The latter adopts and adds a twist to 999's nonary/escape game, forcing characters to partner up and either cooperate or betray each other in order to progress through numbered doors.

Below is 999's new boxart, which will start to appear on copies shipping as of later this month.

Surely you will agree that the art looks familiar. Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (3DS, PS Vita) goes on sale this fall, and if you plan on picking it up but haven't yet played 999... we recommend doing so first.
