Funcom Announces New The Longest Journey
Dreamfall Chapters enters pre-production.
11.01.12 - 10:02 AM

Funcom has announced Dreamfall Chapters, the latest The Longest Journey title, has entered pre-production. The new game is in development at Red Thread Games, a studio formed by The Longest Journey creator Ragnar Tørnquist. Tørnquist was previously the Game Director on The Secret World, Funcom and EA's latest MMORPG outing, but has since been replaced with Joel Bylos so he could undertake this project. This new game is entirely funded and produced by Red Thread Games and has been licensed the franchise by Funcom as a revenue-sharing deal.

"I'm very excited to finally have the opportunity to continue the The Longest Journey saga," says Ragnar Tørnquist. "Ever since we ended Dreamfall on a nail-biting cliffhanger, players have been rightfully demanding a sequel, and my deal with Funcom will finally make that possible. I'm extremely grateful to Funcom for this unique and exciting opportunity, and I can't wait to dive back into the universe I helped create more than a decade ago, and continue the story players have been waiting for these past six years."

There is currently no slated release date for Dreamfall Chapters.
