08.19.13 - 5:40 PM

Muteki Corp., the developer behind the very retro Dragon Fantasy series, has finally set a date for Dragon Fantasy Book II for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3. Whereas the first title took on an 8-bit look and later on get a remake in 16-bit, Book II looks to the 16 and 32-bit eras for inspiration, calling upon games like Lufia, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI.

You can see a bit of Dragon Fantasy Book II, as well as several other PlayStation Vita Summer Select titles, in the trailer below.

Dragon Fantasy Book II will go on sale on September 10th for $14.99 US, though it will be on sale for the first week for PS+ members at $11.99. European fans, meanwhile, can expect both Book I and II sometime this fall. It is also playable at PAX Prime later this month in Seattle.
