Is SEGA Sammy Buying Index & Atlus?
Sonic vs. Jack Frost. Fight!
09.18.13 - 2:23 AM

Last month, SEGA Sammy Holdings was listed as one of the potential buyers of Atlus but now the reality has come. SEGA is reported to have purchased Index Holdings, Atlus' parent company, for approximately 14 billion yen ($141 million US) according to the Nikkei. The sale would be completed in November, and the company to be restructured in the hopes of 'revitalizing' Atlus' handheld and console divisions.

SEGA, however, was quick to deny the acquisition in a press release on its official website. So, what's the actual story? Is the deal actually with SEGA Corp., or does Atlus have a different buyer? Hopefully, we will learn more in the next couple of days.
