Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut Dated, DX Universe Revealed
Is the series heading to the next-gen? Is there even a question?
10.02.13 - 6:41 PM

Eidos Montréal's Deux Ex: Human Revolution has had a Director's Cut version in the works for quite some time. Originally announced for Wii U, the updated version of the 2011 action RPG was later revealed to also be headed to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Director's Cut includes DLC such as The Missing Link and Tong's rescue mission and makes gameplay tweaks so that you can defeat bosses without needing a combat-heavy playstyle, Wii U Gamepad, Xbox Smartglass, and PS Vita support for gameplay sections such as hacking, as well as graphics updates and more.

Studio head David Anfossi made a couple of announcements on Eidos' Deus Ex blog today; first, the Director's Cut will be available very soon on all four platforms - October 22nd in North America, and October 25th in PAL regions. Exclusive to the Square Enix Online Store, if you purchase a Wii U ($49.99), PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 (both are $29.99 each) version, you will get an exclusive novella titled Deus Ex: The Fallen Angel, written by James Swallow (author of the Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect novel).

The second announcement was the reveal of the concept of the Deus Ex Universe. It is just what it sounds like: games, books, graphic novels, mobile apps and other such media, all with the intent of fleshing out... well, the Deus Ex universe. As part of this, Anfossi's blog post confirms that the team is in fact working on a PC and next-gen console Deus Ex title - and he left us with a teaser piece of artwork.

It may just be one picture, but it has that very same cyber-renaissance feel that Human Revolution had. As a huge fan of DXHR, I have zero complaints about that...
