Dragon Quest VIII Heads To Smartphones This Month In Japan
And you thought Final Fantasy mobile games were expensive.
12.03.13 - 8:21 PM

Square Enix had promised earlier this year that the first eight Dragon Quest games would be ported to iOS and Android devices. They made good on their promise... but at quite the high price. Dragon Quest VIII, originally a PS2 title from 2004, will be released in Japan on the App Store and Google Play next Thursday, December 12th in Japan for - wait for it - 2800 yen ($27.30 US). That $16 price tag for those Final Fantasy ports looks slightly less insane now, doesn't it?

The original Dragon Quest is already in Japan's App Store and Google Play, and is free until December 10th. No word yet on Western localizations of any of these ports.
