The Elder Scrolls Online Console Release Delayed
Though a discount has been offered to PC and Mac players.
05.09.14 - 10:27 AM

Bethesda have released a statement explaining that the release of The Elder Scrolls Online on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has been pushed back six months. Originally expected to hit shelves in June, it seems console players will have to wait until closer to the end of the year to play the title.

In their official announcement, Bethesda stated that "We continue to work on the console versions of ESO, and game development has been progressing steadily. But we are still working to solve a series of unique problems specific to those platforms. Integrating our systems with each console manufacturer's networks -- which are both different from the PC/Mac system as well as different from each other-has been a challenging process. It has become clear that our planned June release of the console versions isn't going to be possible. Though we have made great progress, we have concluded that we'll need about six months to ensure we deliver the experience our fans expect and deserve."

To help soften the blow, Bethesda said they would be offering a special deal to anyone who buys the game on PC or Mac before June. If you do, you will be able to purchase the console release on either platform at a discounted price of $20 USD. This also includes 30 days free game time.
