Brandish: The Dark Revenant Coming To The West Courtesy of XSEED Games
The PSP is still alive!

XSEED has just released its E3 lineup and their list of upcoming games includes Brandish: The Dark Revenant for the PlayStation Portable! The title is slated for release in 2014, but will be only available through the PlayStation Network. Brandish: The Dark Revenant initially came out in 2009 in Japan and is a 3D remake of the original Brandish that was release for the SNES in 1994.

Developed by Nihon Falcom (Ys Seven, Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky), the game stars Ares Toraernos, a swordsman who must escape a 40-floor labyrinth, all the while battling against many monsters, protecting himself from booby traps, and discovering ancient treasure. He also meets the sorceress Dela Delon, his arch-rival, who is after his head and is also finding a way out of the labyrinth.

For a fun bit of nostalgia, you can read our review of the original Brandish for the SNES here!
