Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines Video Primer
A new video details all 8 starting classes and more.

SCE Japan Studio has released a new video showcasing the eight primary classes available in the upcoming RPG Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines.

The video begins by highlighting the Swordsman class, your typical front-line fighter. Wearing heavy armor and with a balanced focus between attack and defense, the Swordsman class looks to be a solid beginning point for many clan members. Following the Swordsman class is the Archer, a DPS role that trades heavy armor for a ranged advantage. Following these two, we move on to the Naginata warriors, who specialize in attacks that target entire rows of enemies. Like the Swordsmen, they are also able to equip heavy armor. With similar range as the Naginata warriors, the Spearmen follow suit with a greater focus on offense than the more balances Naginata warriors.

And then things get a bit more interesting. The Dancer class is highlighted and showcases wide-ranged attacks with a flair for evasion. Next up is the Destroyer class, wielding a large hammer and ready to dole out the damage.

The last two classes shown are the Monk and the Cannoneer. Monks are shown excelling at close-range combat and using powerful kicks. While not wearing heavy armor, the monk class will benefit from many evasion skills. Lastly, the Cannoneer is shown blasting away enemies with either single or multiple target attacks.

Towards the end of the video two additional classes are highlighted. Starting at 2:25 we see the Onigashira. While a clan member benefits greatly from choosing this class, they lose the ability to leave behind children and are also shown as being blotted out from the family tree. This class represents an interesting element in the game itself. Will there be characters you won't wish to carry forward with? Would they be better as Onigashira? Only time will tell.

Lastly the goddess Nueko is highlighted. In a previous post we covered how she uses Shikigami to empower parts of her body and change them into additional weapons and those powers are on full display here!

For those in need of even more Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines coverage, the PlayStation's Summer Fireworks livestream event on Nico Nico also showed footage of the upcoming title as well. Below are clips captured during that stream.

Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines releases on July 17th in Japan for the Playstation Vita. Unfortunately no western release date has been announced, but the game is confirmed to reach our shores at some point.
