A brief history lesson if you're unfamiliar with Pillars of Eternity: A Kickstarter project launched in late 2012, the game then known as "Project Eternity" secured a staggering $3.9 million in funding, far and above its lofty goal of $1.1 million. It was quite a feat, and it proves how badly people wanted a new RPG by the people that brought us acclaimed titles such as Fallout, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment, among others.

One of our illustrious podcast hosts is fine-tuning his first look/preview as I type this, so for now, let's look together at both our brand-new Pillars of Eternity gallery, as well as a first look at some actual gameplay:
