Andrew Barker
Visual Novel Planetarian Coming to Steam
The decade-old game is making a comeback!
07.03.14 - 9:25 PM

Back when I first started to play visual novels, about 10 or so years ago, Key's Planetarian was one of the more well-known (actually translated) games in the genre. While it seems to have fallen into obscurity since, publishing group Sekai Project will be bringing it to Steam.

Chris Ling, the co-founder of Sekai Project, said that "The partnership between Visual Arts [Key] and Sekai Project is one that will have a positive effect on the industry. Though it had been speculated for years that such a partnership was perhaps impossible, I'm happy to say that we’ve made the impossible, possible."

A release date for Planetarian has not yet been announced. It's a short game (less than 10 hours) and, as a kinetic novel, has no branches, alternate endings, or choices to make.
