Terrain Will Play a Role in Tales of Zestiria's Battles
And meet the "Blue Valkyrie."
07.11.14 - 2:03 AM

In the latest issue of Shonen Jump Magazine, a new secondary character for Tales of Zestiria has been shown. Martran is a knight known as the Blue Valkyrie, and also heroine Alicia's teacher.

In regards to the combat system, the magazine mentions that the terrain will have a big impact on some battles. We already knew that battles will take place on the exact location in a field you encounter the enemy, but it seems the incline or decline of it will play into its outcome.

Additionally, there will be special "Map Action" abilities that allow you to interact with the environment. The magazine mentions "Cloak of Ghost Fog," which makes you invisible to enemies, and "Chief's Wrist," which lets you break boulders blocking your way.

Tales of Zestiria is currently in development for PlayStation 3.
