Spirit Maids and Action SRPG Combat Find Their Way Into Forbidden Magna
Wait, spirit maids?
10.04.14 - 4:51 PM

Marvelous Entertainment, known for the Rune Factory series and Story of Seasons, just released Forbidden Magna, a game in which you spend time with girls at an inn in order to strengthen them in battle. Forbidden Magna came as a result of the developers wanting to try something new, producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto told Siliconera in a recent interview.

The team is well versed in making action titles, which clearly shows in the design philosophy of the game. Combat takes place on an overhead map without a grid, and players attack highlighted regions that can hit multiple targets. Each character has a specific range and style of attack, making strategy a key part of the systems at play.

Forbidden Magna is currently available on Nintendo 3DS in Japan. No definite word on a US release, but XSEED has expressed interest in bringing it overseas.
