Dragon's Dogma Online to Be Three times Larger than Predecessor
Capcom evidently hopes to support this game for a while. Also, debut trailer!

Following the recent announcement of Dragon's Dogma Online, Capcom released some new details to share about their upcoming free-to-play online action-RPG, and debuted some gameplay footage.

Much like in the original Dragon's Dogma for the PS3 and 360, parties of up to four characters will embark on quests and slay monsters, some of which are quite gigantic and enable the player to cling to their bodies, Shadow of the Colossus style. Dragon's Dogma Online will reportedly be about the size of the original Dragon's Dogma at first, but through expansions and updates, Capcom hopes to increase the size of the games world until it is "three times larger" than that of the first game. The game's story will also be completely new and have no ties to characters from the original game.

It seems that Dragon's Dogma Online was delayed due to the release of the Dark Arisen expansion for the first game, and during that time, Capcom eventually settled on a free-to-play model over a monthly subsciption fee. In a recent issue of Famitsu magazine, it was revealed that Capcom is cooperating with Sony to develop the game, although to what capacity is unknown. Capcom currently has no plans concerning a western release for Dragon's Dogma Online at this time, but the game will be coming out in Japan for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC. Take a look at the new trailer in all it's dragon-slaying glory below.
