Edge of Eternity Levels-Up With Help From Unity 5
The proof is in the computer generated pudding.
03.13.15 - 4:39 PM

The release of Unity 5 has been a great boon to indie studios who rely on the powerful game engine, and the developers behind Edge of Eternity are no exception. On its Kickstarter page, Midgar Studios released a batch of new screenshots and delved a little deeper into tools that made the graphical update possible.

The studio used Unity 5's built in features like real-time spec probes, real-time GI indirect lighting, physically based shading, and SpendTree to create the improved visuals. They also used their own in-house features, which include SMAA antialiasing (they are working on implementing TXAA for Unity), HBAO horizon based ambient occlusion, atmosphere scattering with real-time GI variation, "reactive" grass shader, and improved high resolution shadows.

If you're interested in learning more about the game, check out the demo.
