Xenoblade Chronicles 3D Will Remain Faithful to Its Console Counterpart
Phenomenal huge world! Itty bitty handheld!
04.09.15 - 2:50 PM

Almost 4 years ago Xenoblade Chronicles was released on the Wii with its huge world and fantastic story, and Monster Games has gone out of it's way to make sure the game's transition to the 3DS has been as smooth as it can be. Xenoblade Chronicles 3D will contain almost all of the features of its console counterpart and a little then some.

The game's story and world have not changed in the port, and are as massive as ever. Xenoblade Chronicles 3D uses the 3DS' stereoscopic 3D to add even more depth to the already massive world. The UI has also been cleaned up a bit thanks to the menus and mini-map being moved to the bottom screen. The control scheme remains largely the same as well, and those who have played it on the Wii will be able to jump right into the 3DS version. The New Nintendo 3DS systems have new ZL and ZR shoulder buttons that allow you to control the camera with ZL, and give party members commands by holding down ZR.

New to Xenoblade Chronicles 3D will be the amiibo support. If you own the Shulk amiibo, players will get 3 tokens per day for Collection Mode. Collection Mode will be a library that contains character models and music tracks for you to unlock. Do not fret though if you don't have the amiibo, as you can still earn tokens though StreetPass or by exchanging 5 Play Coins for one token. Unfortunately not everything could make it over to the 3DS version, and the Japanese voice acting didn't make the cut.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D will be available on the Nintendo 3DS on April 10th in North America.
