Did Idea Factory Steal Guilty Gear Music For Hyperdimension Neptunia V II?
Conspiracy! Someone call Phoenix Wright and/or Professor Layton.
04.24.15 - 3:22 AM

It seems some of the music featured in Idea Factory's Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II, which came out in Japan yesterday, is a little too similar to a track from Arc System Work's Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. One Japanese YouTuber has put together a video to indicate the rather striking similarities, which you can watch/listen to for yourself below.

This quickly gained some traction on social media, and eventually the director of Arc System Works, Takeshi Yamanaka, responded with the following translated Tweet:

"If it's true, then it's a matter that we can't ignore."

The Tweet was later taken down. Idea Factory responded to it with their own Tweet:

Which translates to, "What will happen now?? Stay tuned!"

Theories online suggest this could be a marketing ploy, or that Idea Factory are attempting to play down the copyright infringement. No official comments have been made, so we don't know for sure at this time.
