05.14.15 - 10:12 PM

Well, it felt like an inevitability, but today we finally got confirmation that Imageepoch and their affiliate Smile Online Games have filed for bankruptcy in Tokyo district court. The company will have until June 4th to file for credit, and an asset report meeting is scheduled for July 30th.

Imageepoch Smile Online Games Stella Glow Bankruptcy

Imageepoch was founded in 2004, and their latest game Stella Glow is expected to release on June 4th in Japan for Nintendo 3DS. The company reached an income of 1.7 billion yen in September of 2011, but quickly fell off to 400 million yen in September of 2013. Currently, Imageepoch owes over 1.1 billion yen to creditors while Smile Online Games owes 3 million yen.

It's hard to say if the bankruptcy filing will affect the release of Stella Glow, so stay tuned for more information as we get it.
