Sneak a Peak at Dragon Quest VIII 3DS' New Content
Including new characters, and monsters.

The 3DS port of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King will do more than just rehash the hold game; it will include two new playable characters and some new monsters and features. Square Enix recently released some screenshots to show you exactly what they will look like.

The first new character is a female thief named Red who fights with a dagger, whip, or fan. Her skills include "Folding Fan" and "Twin Weave." Twin Weave is a whip attack that hits multiple enemies to the left and right.

The other new character is Morrie who can use clubs, hammers, and claws. His skills include "Tiger Claw" and "Morrie Burning." Morrie Burning involves Morrie striking a pose to trigger a ring of flames to burn an enemy.

New monsters include the Morrie Devil, a little imp that is dressed like Morrie, and the Pudding Slime, which is pretty self-explanatory.

Finally, the 3DS port will have a "High Speed" mode that will speed up the pace of battle. It should be a great asset for quick play on the go.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King comes to the 3DS in Japan on August 27th.
