Ready for some classic Final Fantasy on PC? Steam will be using the power of magicite to launch Final Fantasy VI on December 16th. Check out the trailer below.

If you, for whatever reason (and I'm totally not judging you), are unfamiliar with Final Fantasy VI, Square Enix has provided a nice summary of what you have to look forward to:

Overview:
Play all the main characters as the game’s protagonist, in this epic story intertwining each of their fates in a highly rated and wildly popular RPG classic.

With plenty of abilities available and the magicite system for controlling spells/summoning, players can develop their characters any way they want.

Features:

  • Graphics have been painstakingly recreated by veteran character designer Kazuko Shibuya, bringing the world of FINAL FANTASY VI to your PC for the very first time!
  • Updated controls and active-time battle system are optimized for fluid combat for PC.
  • Includes Steam achievements and Trading cards.

If you need some more information, you can reach deep into the RPGFan archive and check out the review. Note that the PC port is based on the mobile version of the game.
