The team behind Final Fantasy XV took to Twitter to show the holiday season break is officially over in Japan and they're back at work. They showed off a new work-in-progress picture that was a candidate for the new years cast shot. The bottom picture is the shot they went with in the end.

Clearly, the developers had a couple of different ideas for how the cast of Final Fantasy XV would ring in 2016. It's supposed to be a big year for them, after all. The developers also wants fans to be reassured; they will keep updating new information and will show development from "various angle."

The news doesn't stop there. According to Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata, bigger details (including release date) are coming in March. Here's what he had to say:

"This year is the year we’ll release Final Fantasy XV. Currently, we’ve decided on all of its specifications and the beta version is under production so we can shift into the debug phase. We’ll show the real XV during the release date announcement this March."

Final Fantasy XV is expected to be released in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
