We know that games like Dark Souls aren't to everyone's taste, but the fact that they keep coming out hints to us that there are lots of folks who still like them.

If you're one of those folks, you should check out Robert Fenner's review of Salt and Sanctuary below. It's not technically a Souls game, but it's definitely inspired by that style of gameplay, despite being a 2D side-scrolling game. And I get the feeling that you'll probably like it.
