Nier: Automata Announced for Steam
Their announcement video deserves points for originality.

Square Enix had a massive Gamescom, full of news for Deus Ex and Final Fantasy, but a smaller gem slipped through the cracks: the action RPG Nier: Automata. The title, developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix, was originally supposed to be a PS4 exclusive, but Nier: Automata director Yoko Taro released a strangely comedic video for Gamescom, which confirms the game for PC on Steam. You can watch the video below.

The original Nier was a game with a lot of heart, and an amazing story that was criticized for mediocre gameplay. The trailers for Nier: Automata, and news that the sublime PlatinumGames is handling the gameplay this time around, makes me believe that this game is one to watch in 2017.

Nier: Automata will release in early 2017 for PS4 and PC on Steam. It's unknown if both versions will release simultaneously, or if one version will come out before the other. Keep checking RPGFan for more info on Nier: Automata!
