NieR: Automata download code that comes with a special item
Next up, they announced that they have a demo planned for release at the end of the year. Back in April, NieR: Automata producer Yosuke Saito said that he wanted users to properly experience the game with a 30-40 minute demo. That seems like a solid length to engage the player, while still leaving them wanting more.
And finally, if you're curious what type of gameplay the demo will contain, Square Enix released a 24-minute gameplay video. The video shows YoRHa No.2 Type B and Pascal navigating through an industrial environment. We only get a peak of the level, because its time is cut short to showcases the game's "Time Attack Mode", which displays how NieR Automata's combat has changed from its predecessor (seemingly for the better). Check out the video below (starts at 20:57, ends at 44:42).
I love how much time Square Enix has dedicated to showing off NieR: Automata recently. The game shows a lot of promise, and we'll be able to see if it lives up to it soon — the game releases in Japan on February 23 for PS4. A Western release is planned for early 2017 on PS4 and PC. No specific Western release date has been given, but it's bound to be revealed soon. Keep checking RPGFan to find out about that and other NieR: Automata news!
