Cor Leonis and Iris Amicitia will join your party for a limited time as guest characters. Cor was revealed way back at E3 2013 during the trailer rebranding Versus XIII as Final Fantasy XV. He is a 42 year old muscular military man of the imperial capital garrison and wield long swords in battle. Iris is Gladiolus' little sister and fights with hand to hand combat as well as her stuffed Moogle.

The other three members of your main party will be able to equip a secondary weapon and switch between it and their main weapon. Gladiolus uses shields, Ignis uses Lances and Prompto uses machinery giving all the characters additional tactics to use in battle and more adaptability to different situations.

The next feature revealed is 'Ability Call', Abilities such as Ignis' 'Analyze' will be acquired separately from the leveling system by using Ability Points (AP). Learned abilities are dependent on the actions you perform. The system is divided into various branches and seemingly allows for a high level of customization to create a party that suits your preferences.
