Coming out of the gate running, Dragon Quest XI
has sold over two million copies in Japan across the PlayStation 4 and 3DS. According to Famitsu, the 3DS version of Dragon Quest XI
sold 1,130,468 copies, while the PlayStation 4 version sold 950,338, equaling out to a hefty total of 2,080,806 copies, and this is only accounting for sales on July 29th and the 30th. Wow.
A special note should be made that these sales include the base game along with the "Dragon Quest XI Double Pack Hero's Sword Box," "New Nintendo 2DS LL Dragon Quest Liquid Metal Slime Edition," and "PlayStation 4 Dragon Quest Loto Edition." Digital Sales were NOT included in this report. Besides the game itself, Dragon Quest XI helped to sell a total of 126,790 units in the 3DS family while also selling 93,954 units in the PlayStation 4 family. Even without all of these numbers, it doesn't take a genius to see that Dragon Quest XI is selling like hotcakes!
Dragon Quest XI released on July 29 in Japan for the PlayStation 4 and 3DS, with a western release planned for 2018. No new info has been announced for the Switch version. Stay tuned to RPGFan for more news and info on the Dragon Quest series.
