Lousy Smarch Weather...
03.03.18 - 9:23 PM

Well, you aren't here because of the misprint in the RPGFan calendar, which, by the way, should totally exist! No, you are here for RPG news and reviews. We have plenty of those...just don't touch the thermostat. This week we have news stories from Chris Gebauer and reviews from Rob Rogan and Neal Chandran, and another special monthly feature in honor of our 20th year in existence!

Story by Chris Gebauer

At long last, the highly anticipated release of this album is at hand. There is so much good music in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 it is almost a travesty that we had to wait six months to get the full soundtrack. There are going to be 126 tracks on this behemoth of an album, and I can't wait to listen to them all!

Feature by RPGFan Staff

Recently, it feels like almost every game that comes out gets a localization, but there used to be a day when getting a JRPG in the west was pretty rare. There are so many good games that never made it to the west it's almost a shame. So the staff put our heads together and thought of 20(ish) great games in the last 20 years that never actually got a localization. And if your most desired game didn't get on the list, then let us know of other great games that you think should have made it to the west in some shape or form.

Review by Neal Chandran

Oh, sweet, a new Tales of game came out! We are playing a lot of those on Twitch lately. Oh...it's not actually a Tales of game, it's an indie game that is apparently a companion piece to a hip-hop album. Well, it may not be a Tales of game, but it sure does have a cool concept. Check out Neal Chandran's full review if the game has sparked your interest.

Review by Rob Rogan

I Am Setsuna was a good game, just not great — a very solid effort that really could have been much better in specific areas. Tokyo RPG Factory's second attempt with Lost Sphear by all rights should be a better game, right? Well, that might not have happened. Rob Rogan has his review of the game in case you're still thinking about picking this one up.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is definitely one of the most anticipated games coming out this year, and I can't wait to get information on a western release. If you live in Japan, the wait won't be that long (since the game comes out next month), and a demo is out now as well. Hopefully, SEGA doesn't screw up this demo as they did with the recent Yakuza 6 demo.

And that's a wrap for this week. Be sure to check back on the front page for all your RPG news and reviews.
