Hurray Daylight Savings Time!
03.11.18 - 10:10 PM

Set those clocks forward an hour today because it's the best day of the year! The day when we get an hour more sun later in the day, and the sun no longer sets at 5 PM! Spring is almost here ladies and gentlemen, so get ready to enjoy all the fantastic games that come with it as well. This week we have news stories from Gino DiGioia, Corey Hall, Peter Triezenberg, and Chris Gebauer and a review from Bob Richardson.

Story by Corey Hall

Such a good Nintendo Direct this week, with so many fun and fantastic games announced and given release dates. One of the most important was that Octopath Traveler is coming out this July. It seems they are sticking with the weird Octopath Traveler name, which I still think is pretty impressive. July cannot arrive fast enough!

Wow, finally Valkyrie Profile is getting a port to a modern console! Nevermind...it's another mobile port that is probably going to go wrong. Ok, maybe I am jumping the gun, but Square Enix has a weird track record with mobile ports. Some are good; most are pretty terrible. Hopefully, Valkyrie Profile gets the love it deserves and is one of the good ones because I wouldn't mind playing it on the train on the way to work.

Back in the day, there were always some remarkable secrets to discover in video games. Along came the internet and the age of data mining, and gone were those days of mystery. So it is rare for any game to have a secret that nobody has yet discovered. Honestly, the fact that no one has found this secret a year after Automata has released is fantastic. I hope one day we return to the great mysteries of video games. Until then, small stuff like this will just have to do.

There are many demon destroying hack-and-slash RPGs, but let's be honest, a lot of them are pretty bad. Every once in a while, a good one does come along. Victor Vran tries to break the mold of this genre with its own twist, but the real question is, does it work? Bob Richardson has a review if you are interested in killing some demons as a man with a cool hat.

Nintendo and Square Enix, heed this plea from this simple SaGa fan! Please let Scarlet Grace get a release over in the West. Please, please, please! There are so many fans of the series here, and getting a chance to play Scarlet Grace along with the rest of the SaGa games in English would be amazing. Don't make me beg for it any more than I already have.
