Gino DiGioia
Coming This Week, 05/14/18
So many games, not enough time.
05.14.18 - 8:49 PM

'Sup, RPGFanners. Gino here, with this week's games. Honestly, I'm writing this after working a landscaping job; I have sand in places I don't want to mention, and am super wiped, so let's get right to it...

[Editor's Note: Gino hates sand, because it's rough, and course, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.]

Battle Chasers: Nightwar - Switch (May 15th)

Ok, what do we have first? Well, hello there, isometric RPG with cool battle animations. This game looks like a blast to the past with the dungeon crawler aspect, and you can now play it on the go with the Switch. Honestly, I know nothing about this game, but Peter does, as he has a preview for it. We also have a gallery too.

Battle Chasers

Dragon's Crown Pro - PS4 (May 15th)

Don't ask me how many times I wrote "Quest" instead of "Crown" in the title. It's more than one, and that's all you need. Anyways, going from 3D isometric to 2D side-scroller, Dragon's Crown Pro is coming out with new levels, updated graphics, and more art "assets". And by assets, I mean... updated graphics; what did you think I meant? Regardless, check out Alana's recent review and our gallery.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux - 3DS (May 15th)

From an updated version of an Atlus-published game, we now have an updated version of a Atlus-developed game... as well as an Atlus-published game. Well, I know I'm not the only one waiting for SMTV to gracefully come down, rip out our hearts and blow our mind. But until then, we have the updated version of Strange Journey to keep us busy. Just don't expect it to be easy. Here's our gallery and review of the original version.

The Council Episode 2: Hide and Seek - PS4, XB1, PC (May 15th)

What is this game? I didn't hear about it until today and it looks incredible. Even the actual gameplay sections have awesome graphics, and the setting being in 1973 searching a hidden society for your missing mother? A combination of politics and intrigue in the beginning of the United States? Also, a class based and skill based investigation system? Man, this game sounds cool. Episode 2 comes out soon, so it's a good time to check in. Check out our gallery and review of episode 1.

The Council

The Banner Saga - Switch (May 17th)

Whoa, wait. When did we find out the release date for this? Yesterday? And Stardew Valley is coming to Vita at the end of the month? Geez, that's the last time I sleep through news cycles even though it's literally my job to write news... what was I talking about? Oh, right. The Banner Saga is coming to Switch on the 17th. It's an amazing tactics RPG where your choices matter a lot and if you haven't played it, you really should. If you don't believe me, check out our review and gallery.

Fairune Collection - Switch, PC (May 17th)

*zzz* Huh? No, I didn't fall asleep at my keyboard writing this... what were we talking about again? Oh, right, Fairune Collection. This cute set of RPGs is coming to the Switch and PC. In Fairune, you play as a young girl as you solve puzzles and kill enemies Ys 1 style. The world is yours to explore, and now you can travel the real world while you play. Or stay in your room and try not to hit your keyboard if you doze off after a long night playing session... check out our gallery to stave that off.

Fairune Collection

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition - Switch (May 18th)

Ok, I have the caffeine of two large iced teas in me, so I am good to go. Members of the RPGFan staff have heard tales of my 200 hour playthrough of Fire Emblem Warriors, and with that in mind, you can see why I'm both excited and worried about the release of this game. With the inclusion of all content from the vanilla Wii U version and the updated 3DS version, this game will take hundreds of hours to complete. Unless you are one of those people who can 100% games real quick. I am not. Check out our gallery.

Hyrule Warriors: BOTW Link

Well, that's it for this week. I say "that's it," and there are seven games coming out. One brand new, three updated ports, a collection, and two Switch ports. Actually with that collection, there are 10 games... regardless, Gino needs to take a nap. Don't let the campy atmosphere fool you though, I do enjoy writing these. As always, please keep coming back to RPGFan for the latest and greatest of RPG news.

P.S.
T-minus one month to E3. Prepare yourselves.
